A fantastic little spot in Toowoomba. Tucked away down a little alley way would be easy to walk past but do yourself a favour and don't! Great coffee, excellent food and fantastic staff mixed with the true rustic but chic seeing names this place a great cafe!
Ground Up has been a Toowoomba staple for 10+ years, credited with raising the benchmark of Toowoomba’s coffee experience since opening. Wildly popular during the peak hours in the morning and lunchtime, due to the fact that it’s conveniently situated in the CBD, between Grand Central Shopping Centre and Ruthven Street. 100% recommend for coffee and breakfast, brunch to lunch, being mindful that it can look empty to 200% capacity in an eye-blink. Take-away orders are served outside, but you have to order inside. :) Enjoy ☕️

Discovered Ground up Cafe 10-12 years ago when visiting mum. It’s the only place I go to each time I’m up from Sydney. The coffee in particular never disappoints. Last week I asked if they could grind beans for my small “holiday” machine. The barista checked the specs of my machine then ground the beans. He was bang on. Enjoying great coffee at Coolie. Thanks!

You get the vibe even before you get there. On the street you can see black umbrellas down the lane with wooden tables. The walls are painted outside so you have the feeling you're in another country. Tastes are great, I ordered sweetcorn fritters. The salsa was good but portion size wasn't great. The fritters were overly browned but tasted was okay.
Google searched a cafe for lunch as we headed to Toowoomba and the visual vibe of this place just called me. Hidden in this little alley way it was full of industrial and artistic character. It was so hard to pick from the menu as there were so many tasty options, the coffee was great service was amazing and the food was delicious. I had the chilli scrambled eggs with added bacon. Its a must eat at cafe for sure
Ground Up Cafe has a relaxed atmosphere with friendly staff. With beautiful decor, excellent coffee and appealing menu. We ordered a bacon and egg roll which sounds simple, but, this was outstanding due to the quality of the ingredients in expert chef's hands. Talented crew work here!
Laneway cafe experience, just like in inner-city Melbourne! Yes it's true - the coffee is good. Whilst there isn't much in speciality blends or milk crates to sit on, the more comfy tables and street artworks will instantly teleport you to a Brunswick or Fitzroy cafe experience. The food ordering is so simple using QR codes and wow, there are plenty of gems on the menu to choose from, like the Ham & Cheese croissant. I especially liked the big brekkie for it's amazing value..Each item on the dish was well cooked evidently from an experienced kitchen. The only downside is parking is a bit hard to find in the area, but well worth it in the end for spectacular food and coffee
